I apologize sincerely for the tease of the long-awaited Untelligent Life follow-up LP, but I have rewired all efforts to finishing the debut full-length CD of my current lovechild "Coloringbook"! You can hear the results of this whole-hearted full force effort with the brand new color "Laflaysiil"! Yes it may sound like christmas from the start, but don't be mistaken, those are not santa's elves, but alien elves indeed. New Zyzzybalubah full-length album sessions have officially begun. Many demos created. Many songs written. Many ideas thunked. Many new instruments collected. Still not enough in the suggestion box though. I've had 1 submission so far, and that's IT. Be a part of history! Put something into this album! (read below for more details...)

Other projects like "Infinite Experiments" (the bootleg & experimental sound museum) have been put on hold. Once I've got a new song completed I'll begin working on the first official music video (which will be completely nuts!). Right now both Capsula & The Other Green Man are in the process of remixing the unreleased & unfinished Hourglass Effect track "Ego Falls". I've heard progress from The Other Green Man remix and i promise this will be very exciting to all who love the effect! I also have many other unfinished odds & ends and experiments which will most likely make up the contents of "Experiments Vol. 2" album (probably a new bonus disc). Alright, back to work for me! but first... SUGGESTION BOX now open! i was considering calling the new zyzzy album "Suggestion Box", and so, the suggestion box is now open! I am now taking ideas, random words, sentences, pictures, stories, places, or ANYTHING!! that you want to influence the next Zyzzybalubah record! Watch this small film and you will understand how this works :)

The Hourglass Effect debut LP "What Goes Up..." has been released and taking listeners from all over the world on a journey out of this world and out of their mind. You can pick up your own copy with elaborate full color artwork from the music shop on this very page. I was asked to create an exclusive track for the weblabel Mahorka's compilation "Music For Elevators Vol. 3". The album features artists "presenting different approaches to ambient music". My contribution is entitled "Layers Levels Basement Stories", and can be heard on myspace or downloaded in hi-quality by clicking here. Vol 1 & 2 can be downloaded for free on archive.org. I will keep you updated on the release of Vol. 3! With 2007 on the horizon, here's a tentative schedule of upcoming zyzzymusic releases:

Fear not my friends, new music is on it's way. The Hourglass Effect album has been completed and will be available for order soon. The only hold up is that we're still working on the artwork. We're are extremely satisfied and pleased with the outcome and can't wait for you to enjoy it as much as we do. I hope you've been enjoying the Coloringbook project songs so far, as completing that album is my current musical priority. Keep checking back to the Coloringbook myspace page to hear the lastest songs. I've been writing even more new material for the next Zyzzybalubah album. I'll keep you updated, as sessions resume. Zyzzybalubah's Psychedelic Mixtapes
and if you want to take a small look inside my head...
ok, so that's all the links... now I will say that Hourglass Effect is trying very very hard to finish their first full-length album "What Goes Up..." by the end of this month. It is in it's final stages. now what is Coloringbook? it's another solo project of mine but it consists of songs comprised of many many little sample clips and snippets taken from obscure songs and put together to form entirely new colorful songs. I'm currently working on the first Coloringbook full-length entitled "Infinite Variations Of Black And White", you can hear some of the songs already on the myspace site. It's similiar in sound to Lemon Jelly and the Avalanches. I will most likely be creating a visuals DVD to accompany this album. If you've heard my Psychedelic Mixtapes series, you can now order them from this seperate site zyzzymusic.com/psymix/. If you haven't heard them yet, check them out at the myspace site. As for Zyzzybalubah? for the moment I'm so tied up with all these other projects that I haven't even been able to complete the 4 new Zyzzybalubah songs that i've begun to record. FANGDANGO SPECIAL EDITION HALLOWEEN LP In October 2004 I created the 30-minute all-original instrumental halloween-themed EP known as Fangdango. This October the Fangdango album has been extended with a "Part Two" and 2 halloween bonus tracks. A total running length of 53 minutes, all for only $5. Anyone who purchased Untelligent Life when it was first released may recognise the bonus tracks "the world's smallest coffin" and "fangdango outtake". On any future versions of the "Experiments In Untelligence" bonus disc those 2 tracks will be replaced by "Peripheral (Club-In-A-Cavern Version)" and "Intended Purposes Of The Doldrums", both of these tracks will be available as mp3 downloads in the very near future. - Nick Gathany

My latest full-length came out just 10 days ago, and would you beleive that I would be as crazy to start my next full-length already? If so, you're right, I have. It's going to be an instrumental progressive rock album, but don't let that fool you. It'll still be in the usual zyzzybalubah style (think the last minutes of "The World's Largest Coffin). The title is "Like Something Divine". Here are 2 demo recordings that I created to begin writing the material. Keep in mind, these are very rough, unmixed, unproduced, and unjuiced recordings done with only an electric guitar. The real versions will be much longer and much cooler, you'll see. yes, it's true... i'm stiiiiill recording my second full-length "Untelligent Life". There's been so many projects in the middle of these sessions, that it's been taking much longer than I'd thought. Me and Fran Wiradilaga have been busily recording our first full-length under the name Hourglass Effect (check out the link for some preview samples). I even played bass in a Left Behind show at Penn State University over the weekend. However, all the while I have still been finding the time to work hard on finishing the new Zyzzybalubah record... Finally I now have some proof that I have been making great progress. I'm a little behind, but here's the zyzzy news. I played the song "Bright Eyed Girl(s)" again at Fennarios on December 1st (a little more info is in the "Concerts" section). I have added an Uncle Timmy CD that I produced in 2001 to the discography. We are currently "in the studio", creating his first full-length album. Check UNCLE TIMMY out with this link, uncletimmy.zyzzymusic.com There will be a Bonus Disc which will come free with every purchase of the "Untelligent Life" album (only 2 songs left to record!). The track-listing will feature covers, outtakes, experiments, demo versions, and alternate versions. All of it will be "previously unreleased" material, and will total around 25-30 minutes. Most of, if not all, the tracks have already been recorded. Stay tuned for the debut of the Rand Omland records website.
